Aaron Cammon was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended inner-city schools. He served as a firefighter for seven years, including a few years at the East Cleveland Fire Department, before making history as the first Black firefighter in Maple Heights in 2019. While recovering from an on-the-job injury that ultimately ended his firefighting career, Aaron became a personal trainer specializing in injury prevention and corrective exercise and started his own business.
Aaron has always had a passion for the community and working with children. He began collaborating with schools around the greater Cleveland area to provide fitness and healthy lifestyle education to their students. He later coordinated a regional program for CMSD's SAY YES after-school initiative. In this role, Aaron realized how much he related to the children in the schools, having come from similar backgrounds and situations. He recognized that he could use his life and career experiences to provide the same tools and opportunities that helped him achieve his goals.
This realization led to the creation of Fit For The Future. Combining academic tutoring, mentoring, enriching field trips, and creative expression, Aaron believes that Fit For The Future can help change the lives of generations to come.
